Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da ~ Life Goes On...

Hope all is well with each of you.  One month and 7 days into my new job as Music Director for our Catholic Church in town, I'm still getting my bearings and finding my way.

As I sit pondering what needs to be done "next", I realized I wanted to let you know - all's well and "Life Goes On".  I love the Beatles song "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" and have been singing it today.  Here's the YouTube link in case you want to enjoy it yourself.

Also - I'm reading some good books on "Leadership", "Team-building" and "Change" that I plan to share this week.  If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate them.  They were blessed to have the same director for 16 years and now - "Ta Da" - it's my turn.

Love to all and thanks for visiting ~ Reia

Thanks, Mackenzie M. from http://prettysquared.blogspot.com/!

I love watching people get their passion back and engage. I'm getting suggestions from people and I love that they know they can talk with me.

Overall it's great but my blogging time - blog reading time has been limited and I look forward to having more time for the blogging world.

How are you doing?

Good for you! How nice to know you're making a difference. Wish I could be at your choir practice. ...

I wish you could also, Terri (from http://pushingonarope.com/). You could wear whatever you wanted and get us moving while we sing! You're always welcome down our way!

Love you & your blog! Reia

I'm in my mediation class now so I totally thought of a book recommendation - Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher is a book on how to negotiate on the issues (not positions) and is so clear and useful in everyday interactions. I imagine as the leader you'll have to manage conflicts and respond to and lead the members while also accommodating them - this is the perfect book. There may be some online versions or short outlines but it's a classic. :)

Miranda M. from www.prettysquared.blogspot.com - thank you SO much! I was sitting here working on next week's songs and thinking about some of the situations I inherited. Talk about perfect timing! I really can use this help. Bless you! Reia
